A Family Moves House
Chris expressed his interest in living in an IDAA house in 2004. At that stage he was living in a small unit in Kilburn that was too small for him and his wife Wendy. The application stated that he was looking for a permanent home.
Chris and Wendy moved into an older IDAA house in Blair Athol, where they lived for 17 years. The couple went on to have two children.
In 2017 Chris and Wendy were offered a house in Royal Park. IDAA acquired the house as part of a Renewal SA program in which old housing stock is replaced with new housing stock. The house had four bedrooms , a large backyard and was close to a school. The decision to move was a difficult one as Chris and Wendy were established in the area and even though the house in Blair Athol was small and old, it was their home.
The family moved into the house in Royal Park in March 2017. The children attend the local school and have settled in well. The family have a lot of support from family members and say that they are very happy with the house, the garden and the area.
“I love my new house, it is more spacious, more secure and the location is very good.”
